Seals Not the Worst
In a matchup of last place teams in the WHL Southern Division, the Seals Beat the Blades, 3-2, in overtime, in Los Angeles. Nick Mickoski scored the game-winner 51 seconds into the extra period. After the game, Blades head coach George Agar fined every player on his team, except newcomer Willie O'Ree, $100 for poor play.
More Than Skill
According to Art Rosenbaum's column in the Chronicle, head coach Max McNab said lots of aspiring hockey players had ability, but what set those who made the professional grade apart was “tremendous courage” and “an unshakable attitude”.
